Only a 35-minute drive from Faro airport, Sao Rafael, in the centre of the Algarve, is a great base from which to explore the region's many places of interest.

Set in several acres of well maintained mature gardens with large communal pool and separate pool for children, the complex is a short walk from a wonderful Algarve beach. The town of Albufeira is a 5-minute drive away, and the new marina can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes.

The apartment is only a 35-minute drive  from Faro airport and some fine Algarve beaches.  You could even visit Spain during your stay, since the border can be reached within 45 minutes.  And if you fancy some Portuguese sophistication, then the capital, Lisbon, is just two hours distant.

The area is ideal for walking, cycling, or just relaxing, soaking up the sun and sampling the local food and wines. Golf courses and beaches are within easy reach. 

You'll be well situated for access to many places of interest (described below) and enjoy a change from the beach scene.  Yet, you're close to many excellent amenities - not just great golf and other sports, but lots of restaurants and even casinos (if you're feeling lucky!)

Kitchen/Diner
The newly-fitted kitchen has electric hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. There is also a breakfast bar.

Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 has a double bed and air conditioning.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds and air conditioning.
The lounge has a sofa-bed that is suitable for 2 children or 1 adult.

Living Room
This is a bright, spacious, south-facing room with patio doors to terrace. It is furnished with a sofa and armchairs, and a dining suite. The entertainment equipment comprises large-screen satellite TV, DVD player and video player and stereo radio/CD player. 

Bathrooms
The fully-tiled luxury bathroom has a newly installed suite-bath with shower over, bidet, WC, vanitory unit, and mirror shaver point.

Other Provisions
All linen and towels (but not beach towels) are provided.
The apartment is cleaned, and linen and towels changed, once weekly (twice if required, for a small extra charge).

Outside:

Terrace
The large, shaded terrace gives access to the garden, furnished with patio table and chairs.

Locality
The complex has a mini-market, with a larger supermarket a short walk away. There is a generous selection of bars and restaurants in the local area. A bus service to major towns can be accessed from the stop near the entrance to the resort.

Changeover:
Changeover day by agreement. Arrival 4pm, departure 10am.

Points of Interest

Sao Rafael beach is one of the most picturesque in central Algarve, with a sandy cove and attractive rock fomations at each end. It is only 250 metres from the resort. The beach also boasts a snack bar and good restaurant and offers sunbed hire, showers and WCs. Out and about, the beautiful Ria Formosa natural park near Faro is a magnet for those who like walking in gorgeous surroundings and to watch wildlife (especially birds).

A short drive or bus ride takes you to some of the best and most popular beaches in Algarve.

If you fancy international, rather than local, cuisine, then the locality offers as much choice as the most demanding eater could wish.

If you occasionally hanker after more artificial fun, the east-west motorway is only a few kilometres away, so you can visit the waterparks and other diversionary venues that Algarve offers, such as the casino action at Vilamoura, should you be feeling lucky.

Of the several golf courses in the area, the nearest is Salgados. The courses at Vilamoura and Vale Do Lobo are around 20 to 30 minutes drive. But most of the wonderful golf facilities in Algarve can be reached inside a one-hour drive. 

Children who grow tired of the beach can enjoy lots to do within a short, sunny drive - or even make it an adventure day out!
