This beautifully-finished and comfortable 2-bed apartment is located some six kilometres north of Loulé.  It's on the first (top) floor, with its own external staircase access. This affords good views of some pleasant surrounding countryside.

There is a large, private terrace on which to enjoy glorious Algarve weather whenever you want.

Close by, you can enjoy the lovely market town of Loulé, with shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, cinema, library, medical centre and Olympic-size indoor and outdoor swimming pools.  

The apartment is only a 20-minute drive  from Faro airport and some fine Algarve beaches.  You could even visit Spain during your stay, since the border can be reached within 45 minutes.  And if you fancy some Portuguese sophistication, then the capital, Lisbon, is just two hours distant.

The area is ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching or just relaxing, soaking up the sun and sampling the local food and wines. Golf courses and beaches are just 20 minutes away. 

You'll be well situated for access to many places of interest (described below) and enjoy a quieter time away from the tourist hubbub.  Yet, you're close to many excellent amenities - not just great beaches and golf, but lots of restaurants and even casinos (if you're feeling lucky!)

Kitchen/Diner
The kitchen is well appointed with a 4-ring gas hob, electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. The charmingly rustic decor offers just the sort of relaxing time you need on a vacation.

Bedrooms
There are 2 double bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities, and plenty of wardrobe storage. One bedroom has single beds, the other a double bed.

Living Room
Equipped with satellite TV, DVD player and hi-fi and comfortable seating, this is a light and airy room in which to enjoy those waking hours not spent soaking up the Algarve sun.  The sliding patio doors lead out onto the front terrace area.

Bathrooms
The two bathrooms are fully-tiled and pleasantly finished, as this photograph shows.

Other Provisions
A complimentary welcome pack awaits your arrival, with enough essentials to last your first day.

Linen and towels are provided, and are changed weekly. (Pool and beach towels must be guests' own supply).

Outside:

Terrace
This is a large area, with seating and tables, offering views over the surrounding countryside (see photograph at top of page).

Parking
This property has a long drive and offers off-road parking well away from passing traffic.

Points of Interest

Casa Tranquila is close to Querenca, which must be in the running for Most Beautiful Village in Algarve. As already mentioned, the nearest town of note is Loule, one of this website's favourite places.

If you fancy international, rather than local, cuisine, then nearby Almancil will suit you perfectly.

It's a short drive to see the sights at Estoi, which boasts the Roman ruins of Milreu and the palacio that will become the fourth Algarve pousada.

Some of the best Algarve beaches (like Ilha de Faro, Garrao and Falesia) are close by, yet a short drive inland takes you to some gorgeous country views and walking trails.  The beautiful Ria Formosa natural park on the nearby coast is a magnet for those who like to watch wildlife (especially birds).

If you occasionally hanker after more artificial fun, the east-west motorway is only a few kilometres away, so you can visit the waterparks and other diversionary venues that Algarve offers, such as the casino action at Vilamoura, should you be feeling lucky.

The wonderful golf facilities around Loulé municipality offer a great choice of Europe's best golf amid great scenery. While, from June 2007 there'll be yet another golf course at Monte de Rei, between Tavira and Vila Real do Santo Antonio, designed by the great Jack Nicklaus.

Children who grow tired of the beach, can enjoy lots to do within a short, sunny drive - or even make it an adventure day out!
