Close to the wonderfully relaxing town of Tavira, and offering lovely views to both north and south, this is an ideal property for parties of up to 6 persons. 

Stylishly finished and with that authentic Algarve 'feel', it has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and generous open-plan living space. Internally, the furnishings are all of a quality that offer a 'home-from-home' experience.

Outside, the large L-shaped private terrace has comfortable outdoor furniture for lazy times spent enjoying the Algarve climate. The large, shared pool is set among well-maintained lawns that have a picnic table and benches. There is plenty of car parking space available.

Further afield, the unspoiled eastern Algarve is at your disposal. Whether your favourite pastime is golf, tennis, birdwatching, sailing, bowls, or just grabbing some relaxing beach time, you're right on the spot.

Only a short drive eastward along the A22 motorway, and you can even sample some Spanish culture. 

You'll likely need a car, as public transport is not readily accessible from the property. On the plus side, there are car-hire bargains to be had and, with your own transport, you can more easily explore the delights of inland Algarve. The property has good access to the A22 east-west motorway and to the EN125 (coastal road). So, visiting those tourist attractions, water parks, golf courses and even Spain is simple.

Bedrooms
The ground floor bedroom has twin beds, wardrobe space and shelving.
Bedroom 2 is on the first floor and has a double bed, wardrobe space and shelving.
Bedroom 3 on the second floor has twin beds, wardrobe space and shelving.

Living Area
The L-shaped sitting/dining room is comfortably accommodating, with 2 sofas, a dining table and seating for 6 people. You'll find a TV, a satellite receiver, DVD player and VCR for viewing purposes, while musical needs can be accommodated by the DVD player.

Kitchen
For those times when you decide to eat in, you'll find a gas cooker and hob and a microwave oven. There are also a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. An iron/ironing board is also available.

Bathrooms
The ground floor has a shower room containing a WC and washbasin.
The first floor has a bathroom with WC and washbasin.

Other Amenities
Towels, and linen are provided and are changed weekly. (Guests need to bring their own pool/beach towels).

A cot and a high chair can be provided for tiny guests (when requested in advance). 

Accessibility Note:
The ground floor has a bedroom and shower room/toilet. The shared grounds around the pool are relatively flat and there are ramps everywhere they are needed, except the one small step into the front door and sliding door to the living room.

Terrace
The terrace is L-shaped with comfortable outdoor seating. It offers useful privacy and is a handy sun trap. There is a barbeque for private use.

 

Swimming pool
The pool is kidney-shaped, around 20 metres by 7 metres. Water depth varies from around 1 metre to 1.5 metres. The pool is surrounded by sun-warmed, tiled surfaces. The views and the well-kept garden areas make this a very pleasant feature.

Garden Area
There is a picnic table with attached benches.

Views
To the south, you can see Tavira and the sea, while looking northwards affords views of inland Algarve and the mountains that separate the region from the Alentejo.

A non-refundable 25% deposit is required when booking and the balance of the rental cost is payable 6 weeks before arrival. Full payment is required if the reservation is made less than 6 weeks before the arrival date. When the balance is paid, a refundable UK cheque for £200 is also required as a deposit in case of breakages.

Points of Interest near this Algarve Villa Rental

Alto do Perogil is situated close to the lovely city of Tavira, which has featured large during the Algarve's colourful history. There is good shopping and plenty of restaurants, and it's a mere 35 km (25 to 30 minutes) from Faro airport.

To the east, on the Guadiana river that forms the border with neighbouring Spain, is Vila Real do S. António, offering yet more choice of shops and restaurants and even a ferry trip to Spanish Ayamonte. Further north up the Guadiana River is Castro Marim, where they hold an annual festival celebrating Mediaeval Days. The castle and the fortress are both worth a visit, and offer great views over the surrounding countryside.

Some of the best Algarve beaches (like Fuzeta and Barril) are close by, yet a short drive inland takes you to some gorgeous country views and walking trails.  All of my recommended Barlavento (eastern) driving tour is achievable in a single day from this location (with plenty of time for a relaxing and authentic dinner in a hillside village restaurant on your return leg).

If you occasionally need more hedonistic fun, the east-west motorway is only a few kilometres away, so you can visit the waterparks and other diversionary venues that Algarve offers, such as the casino action at Monte Gordo, should you be feeling lucky.

The fantastic golf facilities at Colina Verde and Benamor are handily close. And June 2007 will see the inauguration of the new course at Monte de Rei, between Tavira and Vila Real do Santo Antonio, designed by none other than Jack Nicklaus...

(Please note if you wish to play golf you will need your handicap certificate (not required at Colina Verde) and soft spike shoes. Major courses to the east and west of the Algarve are only a short hop away via the A22 motorway, where 10 cars in view constitutes a traffic jam!)

Many of the inland restaurants offer game dishes as well as the usual pork and chicken choices.  Nearby Tavira even boasts one of this website's favourite Algarve restaurants and Santa Luzia has a seafood restaurant recommended by an Algarve Beach Life reader...

While, if there are children who've grown tired of the beach, there's lots to do within a short, sunny drive - or even make it an adventure day out!
