Note:
Of course, Portuguese language is Latin based, and so the nouns and adjectives vary as to gender. Where a word has two forms in the table - like amigo and amiga for 'friend' - the first is the masculine form
and the second the feminine. (I think you can guess when to use one form or the other).
Print out the table and use it to rehearse your 10 daily words in the Portuguese language whenever you have a few minutes spare. It worked for me!
Once you know the words, it's just a question of putting them together. Example: "I have time" would be "Eu tenho tempo" (say "eh-oo tine-yoo tem-poo").
...And don't forget to revisit the list to brush up your Portuguese language each time you plan to head back to enjoy some more of that wondrous Algarve Beach Life! (I didn't last time, and I was struggling to converse. I'm not sure some of my victims even knew I was using the Portuguese Language...)
(I'd like to think that one day, I'll be fluent enough to offer a Portuguese language version of these website pages - but don't hold your breath. Keeping just the one version updated is hard enough!)
Please let me know if you succeed - just use the form on the Your Algarve Best page. I would be most interested to know whether you found it as useful as I
did for learning to converse in the Portuguese language.
